Regents Explanation & Expectations

Today, we are discussing the NYS Regents Examination in Global History and Geography. The exam has multiple parts which must be completed in 3 hours unless you have accommodations.

Those parts are:

Regents Questions 50 Multiple Choice

DBQ Questions 12-13 Fill In / Short Answer

Thematic Essay Essay based upon your knowledge of a topic with some suggestions.

DBQ Essay Essay based upon your knowledge of a topic with documents to assist you.

30 % of Whole Test has Geography Based Questions

You may look at any previous exam online or use the August 2010 Regents Exam as a sample and for practice.

You may also want to explore and take some of the NYS Global Regents tests on the State Website.
