Roman Times Webquest - Task

The New Roman Times: A Newspaper of the Roman Empire

This project can be for individual students, pairs, or small groups, You will be responsible for publishing one issue of The New Roman Times, a mythical daily newspaper published in Rome during the imperial years.

You will be responsible for writing five (5) newspaper articles. All the articles need to be written in the present tense, from the perspective of a contemporary (living at the same time) Roman citizen. 

Bring your subjects to life. Tell the stories in a way that not only informs your readers, but keeps their interest ,and their subscription to your newsletter. Be sure to include some graphics to illustrate your stories.

Stories

The following stories and/or articles must be included in your Newspaper as:

Individual Stories:

• Roman Architecture & Engineering - Story about three main architecture designs used in Roman Architecture. (Min 300 Words / Max Limit 500 words)
• Roman Army - Diary Entry describing a typical day as a soldier. (Min 300 Words / Max Limit 500 Words)
• Roman Society - Diary Entry describing a typical day in the life of a wealth Plebeian Woman. (Min 300 Words / Max Limit 500 Words)
• Emperors of Imperial Rome - Biography on a Roman Emperor (Min 300 Words / Max Limit 500 words)
• Fall of Roman Empire - Story about how the Barbarians invaded the Roman Empire. (Min 300 Words / Max Limit 500 Words).

• Roman Entertainment - Poster advertising Chariot Races to a Roman Audience.
• Roman Society - Poster advertising a Roman Town House for sale.
